Personal Headcanon for the black spots:

Vinland could be compared to Canada's grandfather (Vinland might be America's grandfather too, making him more or less the Italy to Canada's Romano), but he later ended up being abandoned and died at an early age long before Canada was born. Helluland and Markland were his great uncle and aunt respectively.

Unlike most countries, France and Canada are actually father and son rather then adoptive big brother and little brother. I say this because France is the only country to make comment of another country getting something from the parent country (his hair) that has not been a matter of dispute. For example during the Battle for America, France and England fought about who he looked like more. In the case of Canada's hair England took France's comment as an insult.

If this were true, he could have been born anywhere between 1524 and 1534. This would also make Canada the older brother making him 20/21 in human years. America just grew up faster and looks older.

Kumajiro represents Alaska.

Russia ran into Canada once and laid claim to Kumajiro because he thought he was a cute bear and didn't think he had an owner. Canada ran off with him when Russia had his back turned. Russia left thinking he had run off. He came back a couple years later and took Kumajiro with him leaving Canada bearless for sixty-eight years.

After the Alaska Purchase, America was going to keep him because he thought it would totally be cool to have a talking bear for a pet. Until Canada started crying and begging for Kumajiro back since it had been forever since the last time he had seen him. America felt sorry so he let Canada keep Kumajiro, even though he was technically the owner.

This also explains why Kumajiro forgets/teases him about his name because he's technically part of America.

Canada has no qualms about who he sleeps with, be them human or country. After all, he's probably did Ukraine a couple of times since the fall of the Soviet Union. Dispite this, he tries to keep the um...foreign relationships to a minimum and leans more towards people.

Even though he doesn't look like he has it in him, Canada has to shave daily or he ends up with a full beard by the end of the week.

Canada knows how to cook things other than pancakes. But he rarely ever cooks fancy French food since it's usually just him and Kumajiro. With that said, he really likes Fish and Chips and England's tea. But everything else England makes...not so much.

Canada has a a secret badass side, much like Finland and Italy do. It rarely ever shows itself, but when it does it's more akin to going berserk than anything else.

The Netherlands is probably one of the only countries he'd do anything for (And did, with the declaring the hospital a Dutch territory thing). Not even what he has with Poland, Cuba, and Belgium cannot compare to the bromance they have.

Despite the supposedly fun personality of Portugal, Canada gets his sarcastic inner voice comes from her/him.

Kids Little siblings Micronations:

Aerica: Total space cadet, She thinks she owns property on planets. He locks her in the attic because she can't take her, but she finds a way out. She's usually scene hanging out around America, Australia, New Zealand and every other nation she has "property" in. They are just about equally annoyed by her and refuse to recognize her...EVER.

Vikesland:

Caux: He likes France and England more.

Outer Baldonia: They died...and he barely got to know them. He doesn't even remember if they were a boy or a girl. All he knew about them was that they were very secretive and liked Pepsi for some reason.
